If your in the market to purchase a major appliance there is yet another reason to be looking at High Energy Efficient Models if you live in Illinois!  Though it’s a program with a set budget, so the money will be running out soon.

In Illinois you can apply for the state rebate program.  This program has a pool of $12,379,000 to work with in rebates for any appliance meeting the minimum standards.

You must meet the following minimum efficiency requirements

  • Air Source Heat Pumps: >=SEER 16
  • Central Air Conditioners: >=SEER 16
  • Clothes Washers: Energy Star
  • Dishwashers: Energy Star
  • Freezers: Energy Star
  • Gas Boilers: AFUE >=90%
  • Gas Furnaces: AFUE >=95%
  • Propane Furnaces: AFUE >= 95%
  • Refrigerators: Energy Star
  • Room Air Conditioners: Energy Star

If you meet these minimums you have a shot at the following rebates

  • Air Source Heat Pumps: $1,000
  • Central Air Conditioners: $500
  • Clothes Washers: 15% point-of-sale discount
  • Dishwashers: 15% point-of-sale discount
  • Freezers: 15% point-of-sale discount
  • Gas Boilers: $1,200
  • Gas Furnaces: $350
  • Propane Furnaces: $350
  • Refrigerators: 15% point-of-sale discount
  • Room Air Conditioners: 15% point-of-sale discount
